Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #7 ft. Ambrosia del Cerrado

6/16/2016

Picture
*Ambrosia del Cerrado, one of the most unique formulations of skincare I have tried thus far! It is a Vegan, cruelty free, organic, cold pressed, handcrafted, small batch product, as all Earthwise Beauty products are! This is described as a liquid moisturizer/toner. Ambrosia gives more hydration than the conventional toner, but feels lightweight on the skin.
Ambrosia del Cerrado was given a Portuguese name to focus on the Cerrado area in Brazil, which is considered the richest savanna in the world by the World Wide Fund of Nature. It is a beautifully colored, golden/orange liquid that has a scent of a freshly opened fruit. There are no added essential oils to this, so it is perfect for someone who is sensitive to them. The Pequi fruit and moringa oil give it the light scent of tropical summer. When I use this, I feel as though I am putting the rays of the sun on my face! (Except it has a cooling effect from the aloe, and it doesn't burn of course!)
Picture
Like many of Ava's products, this has an aloe base. When I was on vacation I was very drawn to this product. Between using this and the Chamomile & Lavender face gel, I was all set with the perfect skincare combination.

This is great for all skin types, oily, combo, and acne prone. It is especially great for those who have acne prone skin, since it doesn't contain any waxes which can cause breakouts. Ambrosia del Cerrado is a lightweight oil that leaves your skin feeling supple and brightened. The oil sinks right into your skin, while keeping you moisturized at the same time.

My Thoughts? This was actually one of the first products I had ever tried from Earthwise Beauty in a sample form. I'm going to be honest and say that I was not a fan of this through first impressions. There are a couple reasons for this; I was still using other products that were making my skin unbelievably dry, I hadn't been using Earthwise products that have been extremely nourishing for my skin as I do now, I didn't top it with another moisturizer, and I didn't use it in the way that I do today. Don't let this deter you from trying it if you have dry skin, because I have some tips to spill. Ava recommended that I use this while my face was still damp, and OH MY, did it make a difference! Thank you Ava! I also add another nourishing oil on top of this, such as Magical Babassu, or Marigold Fields. I am elated that she gave me this little piece of advice, because I would have been truly missing out. I decided to buy a big size to dedicate my time and energy towards testing this out fairly, and I am really happy that I did. Sometimes you just have to try things different ways, and see what happens. I am now living for this oil, and it is has become a staple in my routine.

Ingredients
Aloe barbadensis whole-leaf cold-press juice*, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Caryocar braziliensis (pequi) fruit oil, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Mauritia flexuosa (buriti) fruit oil, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Moringa oleifera seed oil, polysorbate 20 (naturally derived), potassium sorbate (natural preservative), non-GMO tocopherol (vit. E), xanthan gum, ascorbic acid (vit. C), citric acid.
*Certified organic.
Aloe vera certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) for purity and content. All our imported hand-extracted plant oils are fair trade.

I love that Ava spotlights different ingredients from Indigenous places in the world. The Pequi fruit oil is something I had never heard of before. It comes from Brazil and it is packed with nutrients, such as Vitamin A, B1, and B2. This fruit oil helps to give supple, and firm skin. The Moringa oil is a powerhouse of nutrients as well. I have written a blog post on a particular Moringa Oil a while back if you would like to take a read, here. The Buriti oil in this is also known for its anti-aging effects, while also reducing scars and brown spots.

Have you been interested in something revolutionary and different to add to your skincare routine?! I recommend checking out Ambrosia! Botanical Infused Skincare: Angel Face Botanicals Overview

Have you tried Angel Face Botanicals? If not, I am going to stop you right here, and tell you that you need to!

AFB was created by the owner, Jessica. Jess is a plant and crystal intuitive, using her healing throughout her range of skincare products. After years of having health problems from using conventional products, Jess discovered the world of essential oils and plant healing. She used her knowledge and will for self love to create a beautiful range of products. When there is love, spirit, and energy within a product/company, it makes it that much more special and effective (at least for me, that is).

Angel Face Botanicals uses organic and wildcrafted ingredients in their products. They craft their own extracts, infusions, and gemstone elixirs, while also using the whole plant. They are a cruelty free company, who also uses recycled packaging. The owner offers a DIY book that she wrote on 100 skincare recipes! (How neat!) I align with Angel Face Botanicals as a brand in so many ways, which is why this blog post is extra exciting for me. Okay, onto the product reviews now.
Picture
Here is the *Super Detox Deep Pore Facial Cleanser! I tested this product on its own beforehand so I could truly see results. If you follow my blog/channel, you know that I take at least a month to test a product out before I will review it. I want to be able to give an informed amount of information on a product, which is important to me.
When I woke up the first morning after I used this, my skin had SERIOUSLY detoxed. I had a HUGE bump on my chin, where I must have had some severely clogged pores. I wouldn't recommend trying this out if you have a wedding or important event the next day, since it will make your skin purge. After a couple days to a week of first using this, my skin completely cleared up. I had these clusters of acne on my cheeks for months that I could not get rid of, and this cleared it up in days. Welcome to my world, new favorite cleanser! As I started using this regularly for weeks, I started to reduce its use in my routine. I would say I use it about 3 times a week now at night, as that is what seems to be working for my skin.
The Super Detox cleanser is full of beautiful, detoxifying, and beneficial ingredients. The key ingredients would be MSM, Activated Charcoal, DMAE, Aloe, and White Willow Bark. It doesn't leave my skin stripped either, as other detoxifying cleansers have in the past. I also wanted to mention that this smells like an Aveda product, but it's completely naturally scented and doesn't give me a headache. (HOORAY!) It's simply divine! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product to keep your skin in check!
Picture
I'm going to admit I've been a serious toner hater in the past, until this magical potion made it into my life. This is the *Grace toner, and it is packed with nourishing and skin cell repairing ingredients. Using this in addition with the Super Detox cleanser has definitely made a difference in my skin and its ability to retain moisture. Anything that has a base of aloe draws me in right away.
I incorporated the toner into my routine with the cleanser and kept everything else the same for another few weeks. If you are really trying to see if a product is working for you, I recommend trying this routine as well. After using this for weeks in combination with the cleanser, my skin had become more bright and less red as each day went on. Finally, a toner that actually works and nourishes at the same time. I find myself wanting to spray more when I am using it, as the scent of clary sage is magical in and of itself. This does contain Retinol A, so I have decided to use it only at night time. I do wear sunscreen every day, which you can put on top of this to protect yourself form the effects of the Retinol A. But, it's all up to you, boo!
Picture
I'm going to mention these two, as I use them in conjunction. First, I like to use the *Lavender Oil-Free Clarifying Serum, and then put the *Light Featherweight Facial Moisturizer on  top. I definitely feel that when I use these together they elevate one another. I tried both separately and it didn't work out too well for me. If you know my skin type, I have VERY dry skin, which needs the utmost moisture in the world. Since the weather has been getting warmer, I can tolerate using just these two as my moisturizer. When I was testing these out in the spring time, I was needing another moisturizer to go on top of the two. For myself, I wouldn't be able to use these anytime except for summer.  I feel like these would be great for someone who has oily  or normal skin, especially the clarifying serum. I think, for myself, I might do better trying out their Jasmine Exquisite cream, as it seems more suitable for dry skin.
Picture
To finish up this overview, let's talk about a body product. We all love a good body scrub, don't we!? This is the *Double Love Exfoliating Body Scrub. This scrub is full of lavender! If you are a lavender lover, as I am, run and pick this up! It is such a relaxing scrub to use, and it just puts you at ease. I have been drawn to salt scrubs now more than ever. I love being able to get the benefits from the Himalayan salt over sugar any day! This scrub is exfoliating and absolutely moisturizing. When you step out of the shower, you don't need to moisturize any further. I would say it's a lazy person's dream. I would much rather have a good quality scrub which can do both for me. When I finish this one, I plan on picking up the Tonic Scrub for my sore muscles, it sounds heavenly!

Overall, I am loving the vibe, ethics, and product formulations from Angel Face Botanicals. I think you guys need to check them out. I have a couple more of their products on my radar, such as: the Palo Santo oil, Sweet Dreams, Clear Skies, Divinity Body Oil, & Flower Power Wellness Bath + more. What AFB product calls your name?

Earth Wise Beauty Spotlight #6 ft. Chamomile & Lavender Hydrating Face GelĀ

5/27/2016

Picture
It's been a while since one of my last spotlight posts. Welcome back!
We are talking about the *Chamomile and Lavender Face Gel today! This is one of the first products developed by Ava, that she has been selling for ten years.

This face gel is an organic, oil free moisturizer with an aloe base. As always, Ava's products are cold-pressed, organic, using unrefined oils, and hand crafted in small batches. Chamomile & Lavender is similar in its texture to Carrot-a-Day. This face gel can be used as moisturizer on its own, or underneath a heavier moisturizer if you feel the need. As of right now, in the summer, I can use this on its own without my face feeling dried out. Chamomile and Lavender face gel works for all skin types; normal, oily, combo, sensitive, acne prone, and dry.

Picture
Now that it is hot out, I find that I am needing more of a light moisturizer. Since this is aloe based, it is extremely soothing on the face. Before trying Earth Wise Beauty, I had never used an aloe based skincare product. Quite frankly, I find myself more drawn to aloe based products now and it's hard to turn away from them. That being said, this is perfect in the hot summer months especially if you keep it in the refrigerator. Just imagine coming home from being in the sun all day and then slathering this cool gel on your face! Now, how magical does that sound? I used this when I came back from the desert recently, and it helped sooth the irritation from my sunburn. Voila, just like that! If you're going on vacation, I highly recommend picking up a sample of this.

Ingredients:
Aloe vera barbadensis leaf fillet*, non-GMO tocopherol (vit. E), polysorbate 20 (naturally derived), Lavandula angustifolia (French high-altitude lavender) oil*, natural ECOCERT approved (for use in certified organic cosmetics) preservative {glycerin, Leuconostoc (radish root) ferment filtrate, Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, Lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) extract, Populus tremuloides bark extract, glucono-lactone}, carbomer, ascorbic acid (vit. C), Matricaria recutita (German blue chamomile) oil*, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract.
*Certified organic. Aloe vera certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) for purity and content.

Not only does this face gel soothe the skin, but it also helps reduce redness. The German Blue Chamomile also aids in this, plus adds anti-inflammatory benefits. The lavender and rosemary oils also help to reduce and heal acne. I would say this is the cousin to Carrot-a-Day in other ways than just the texture. Both Carrot-a-Day and Chamomile and lavender share some of the same ingredients, yet function in different ways. Lavender and Chamomile is a more gentle face gel which is especially great for sensitive skin. It is more moisturizing then C-a-D as well, and leaves your face feeling rejuvenated and calm. C-a-D is definitely more of a powerhouse, anti-spot reducing and tightening face gel. Both extremely effective, but in different ways. I wanted to bring this point up for those who may want a more gentle skin treatment for sensitive skin.

pureSOL Konjac Sponge Overview

4/21/2016

Picture

I never thought I would be washing my face with a sponge, but I guess I can say the same about a lot of things in the green beauty world. Coming into the world of natural products means opening yourself to a whole new variety of routines.
So what's a konjac sponge? Konjac sponges are made from the konjac root. They are gently exfoliating, moisturizing, and work well with sensitive skin. They are biodegradable, sustainable, and vegan! What a trio! These konjac sponges are compostable, as is their packaging which is 90% compostable. They say you can put your sponge right in your flower pot when you're done with it, how cool!

Picture
Left to right: Original, Turmeric (dry)
I was fortunate to get to test out the *Original and Turmeric body sponge. I have tried many different konjac sponges, and the original one has to be my favorite to use on the face thus far! It works well by gently exfoliating without over drying the face. You can definitely notice a difference in texture when using and not using the sponge. The sponge leaves your face feeling refreshed and fully cleansed. My face is also more bright after washing with it. This particular sponge lasted me about 3 months. One thing to note is that you shouldn't wring out the sponge, as this decreases its lifespan. I also LOVE that these come with suction hooks and a string, it is super helpful. A lot of companies don't provide that type of convenience, and then you have to find a place to rest it while its drying without it getting moldy. A+ to pureSOL!
Picture
Original & Turmeric sponges when wet
As for the Turmeric sponge, I enjoyed using this on my body. I felt like it was too large for my face and that I couldn't get a true wash with it. Although, I did love using this on my body. After coming out of the shower my skin appeared less red. Also since it is gently exfoliating, I can tell it helped to keep my skin smooth and helped prevent little bumps from appearing. I am also in love with the fact that it contains turmeric within the sponge. Turmeric can be great for helping skin ailments such as eczema.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience using these sponges! Now I need to pick up the charcoal one, and maybe even get another original! I don't want to be without them. Go check out their website: http://puresol.co/

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #5 ft. Carrot-a-Day

Aloe! Carrot Seed Oil! Blue German Chamomile, oh my!
Meet your new best friend, Carrot-a-Day*! This cream-gel face and eye serum is a definite MUST try from Earthwise Beauty.

Carrot-a-day is for all skin types, especially for skin lacking firmness, acne, combination, mature, and dry types. I tried this as a sample sometime last summer, but I had given up on it, as my skin was too dry. I contacted Ava after trying some of her samples, and she recommended I try this under my daily moisturizer. Too my disappointment, I only had a tiny bit of this left, and I was left feeling underwhelmed as I didn't get the full experience. A couple months ago I made an order for Green Leaves &Co., and I ordered a sample, but Ava graciously gifted me the .95oz. Now after dedicating myself for weeks, I feel like I have some gushing to do.

I have been enjoying putting this serum under my eyes, as it tightens and has a cooling effect. My favorite way to use this is to leave it overnight in the refrigerator and put it on my under eyes in the morning. The natural cooling effect mixed with the cold from the refrigerator has to be the most invigorating feeling upon waking. C-a-D also helps to reduce puffiness in the eye area. This serum has now become one of my favorite parts of my skincare routine. Sometimes you just have to try something a second time, or continue using if you don't see results right away, it can be worth it. (keep reading for my transformative results down below)
Picture
Ahhh look at that creamy beautiful gel in all of it's glory! I have some transformative results to share here as well. Do you suffer from acne scars, brown spots, or hyper-pigmentation? If so, you NEED this. I have had some pesky pimples show up on my temple area that just went away and left a cluster of scars! I had been looking for something to brighten my spots for over a year, and nothing. When I started using this under my eyes, I decided to put it on those spots too. A month or so later, my acne scars have lightened. I was actually shocked, even though I have read such great results from others who have tried this. I mean, this is a customer favorite for a reason, isn't it? If anyone is interested in hearing more on my results over time, let me know down below, or email me at [email protected]

Here are the ingredients from the website: Aloe vera barbadensis leaf fillet*, Daucus carota seed oil*, natural non-GMO tocopherol (vit. E), Helichrysum italicum (Italian everlasting) oil*, ECOCERT approved natural preservative {glycerin, Leuconostoc (radish root) ferment filtrate, Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, Lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) extract, Populus tremuloides bark extract, glucono-lactone}, Marticaria recutita (German blue chamomile) oil*, carbomer, ascorbic acid (vit. C), Mentha spicata (spearmint) oil*. *denoting organic ingredients

The spearmint oil in this delightful serum is the ingredient which helps in getting rid of puffiness. The German Blue Chamomile and the Helichrysum are both anti-inflammatory ingredients, yet they also help aid in reducing spots. Carrot seed oil, on the other hand, is filled with anti-oxidants; it has powerful anti-aging benefits, which is why this is Ava's take on a youth serum. Carrot seed oil also helps in rejuvenating skin cells, while also helping to heal eczema, psoariasis, and dermatitis. I also wanted to mention the scent of this is absolutely magical. The Blue German Chamomile and the Spearmint oil make for a unique herbal scent profile that can't really be described.

Make sure to follow Earthwise on Instagram @Earthwisebeauty for updates, lovely photos, and just pure plant love. As always, thank you for reading xoxo.

Skinchantment Overview: "Where Inner Light Meets Outer Glow"

3/19/2016

Picture
L to R: Kitchen Witch-Siren Salts, Warrior Queen-Radiance Nectar, Meet Me At The Masquerade-Sea Silk, & Elixir of Light- Warrior Queen

Skinchantment is a duo of two sisters from Alberta, Canada. They are a vegan, organic, non-toxic, gluten free, skincare line that also gives back to their local animal sanctuary. Sam and Meg also use fair-trade and wild crafted ingredients when available. I love supporting companies that align with my same beliefs and interests. I also have a strong place in my heart for Canada, so anything I can do to get a Canadian's brand name out there is a plus! Check out their website here! You can also support them by following their Instagram @skinchantment. Skinchantment was also featured in a Goddess Provisions box, which was created by the same makers of Vegan Cuts!
Picture
Let's start it off with talking about one of their masks! This green magic here is called the Sea Silk Mask*. Sometimes you just need something to balance out your skin, I mean am I right? I love using this mask as a mid-week mask, as it's supposed to be for problematic skin. The ingredients of the mask: Sea Clay, Organic Green Tea, Organic Kelp, Organic Thyme, & Papaya and Cucumber Extract. I was extremely intrigued by this product since I haven't tried some of these ingredients in my skincare routine. What really drew me in was the sea clay and kelp in this mask. Both of these ingredients are known for detoxifying and pulling out impurities. Thyme is also antibacterial, and happens to be one of my favorite ingredients for acne killing! POW! POW! Cucumber and Papaya are both helpful in brightening the complexion while also being anti-inflammatory. The ingredients are thoughtfully put together in this mask, and you can see an immediate difference after using it. My only problem with this mask is the scent due to its oceanic ingredients. Don't get me wrong the mask is amazing, but a little over powering on the scent of the sea, that is, for me at least. I do use this now only as a spot treatment as opposed to a full mask. I think if you have acne prone skin, this would be a great one to check out.
Picture
Ah, the wonderful Radiance Nectars! For a while I was a total toner hater, not going to lie here. But, once Skinchantment sent this Warrior Queen Nectar* to me, everything changed. First I have to say, the mister on this is PERFECTION. I enjoy that this has minimal ingredients, as I feel that a lot of toners usually contain too many ingredients. The ingredients are: Distilled Water, Organic Lemon, Organic Lavender, Organic Gylcerin, and Witch Hazel. This toner is great for balancing the skin. The lavender extracts help to rejuvenate skin, while helping to fade pigmentation and scars. The lemon extract is also antibacterial and helps to remove dead skin cells. The scent smells like lavender, but it is light and relaxing. Plus, it leaves your skin smelling like beautiful flowers, how can you go wrong? I have dry skin, and this didn't dry me out, as I feel other toners have in the past. A+ for me on this radiance nectar!
Picture
There is pure love here for this Elixir of Light. Meet the Warrior Queen*! I have been using this oil to oil cleanse, but there is magic in this, as you can also use this as a moisturizer. If you guys have been keeping up with my skin regiment, you know that I stopped oil cleansing. A little while ago I picked this up, and it changed it all. Before when I was oil cleansing I started to develop blackheads, and this helped to clear them up. I definitely think oil cleansing works, you just have to find the right oil combination for your skin.
The ingredients in this are amazing for damaged/scarred skin. Now, I don't have damaged skin per se, but I do have some scarring. I wanted to try this out in hopes that it would reduce inflammation. The ingredients are: Organic Borage Oil, Organic Tamanu Oil, Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil, Organic Rosemary, Organic Calendula, Organic Gotu Kola, and Vitamin E.
As I mentioned in previous posts, Rosemary, Calendula, and Sea Buckthorn are some of my favorite ingredients to use in my skincare routine. Gotu Kola, Borage, Calendula, and Tamanu all have anti-inflammatory properties. Sea Buckthorn helps aid in regeneration and moisturization. Tamanu oil helps to heal skin, while also aiding in regeneration.
I notice after using this oil that my skin appears less red. Other noted differences are that my skin is more plump and it leaves me feeling moisturized. This is yellow in color, so it may look like you are spreading on Iodine, but it doesn't stain your skin at all.
Picture
I'll do anything to get my hands on a good bath salt! This Kitchen Witch* bath salt(which by the way the name is adorable)is nothing short of amazing. When you open the lid to this it smells like French cooking ingredients, so much so, I wanted to eat it. Alas, I decided to use it for it's intended use. Since this contains Coconut & Shea Butter, it is a super moisturizing bath. When I stepped out of the bath tub I was amazed at how moisturized my skin was. These bath salts contain pure sea salts to extract the toxins in your body. The Epsom salts in the blend also helped to reduce my pain and keep me calm and relaxed. There are loose herbs in this bath salt, but I didn't have a problem with the clean up or any drain clogging.
The ingredients are: Pure Sea Salt, Epsom Salt, Shea Nut Butter, Coconut Butter, Rosemary, and Sage.
Picture
Overall, I really enjoyed everything I tried from Skinchantment. You can tell that they put a lot of love and time into their products. The ingredients are well thought out, making sure that your skin is being kissed by a goddess.

**These products were sent to me. I will always be honest in my reviews whether I have received something or not. I want it to be clear, and I will always be transparent about this.**

Thanks for reading xoxo

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #4 ft. Green Leaves & Co.

3/10/2016

Picture
Green Leaves & Co.  was the first product I tried from Earthwise Beauty. I was amazed by its efficacy, as it's antibacterial properties happened to help me over night! Now, how many products can you say shocked you by how well they worked over night!? I would say this is one out of four for me.

This facial oil is made for acne prone, sensitive, oily, post acne, combination, and reddened skin types. Now, I have dry skin, but I tend to get the occasional breakout. When my skin is feeling clustered and upset, my body is calling for this facial oil. I swear I can smell this oil when I awake, and when I look in the mirror I realize I have breakouts that need extinguished. Talk about my body being intuitive? May sound a little weird, but 100% true. By the way, the scent of this oil is outstandingly SENSATIONAL. I tend to find myself sniffing this every time I open my refrigerator, as that's where I keep it stored. Amazing at reducing acne, plant love & messages, and aromatherapy all in one. You can really smell the rosemary and thyme in the oil, which reminds me of cooking in my kitchen with the fresh air blowing in. Rosemary and thyme are two of the most used herbs in my kitchen. We don't mess around. Then there's the background scent of lavender which is from  the high altitudes of Provence. Provence happens to be my dream place of where I will live when I am older. So, needless to say, I have an extreme connection with this oil. The fact that it is potent and really works, is an added bonus ;)
Green Leaves sinks in and leaves your skin feeling plump, renewed, and straight up refreshed! The texture of this oil leaves your skin feeling like satin/velvet. I swear Ava creates the most luxurious, multi-layered oils. I feel like there is so much depth within her products, which is something I have never felt before in any other brand.
If you don't want to use this as an all over facial oil, you can also use it as a spot treatment.
The oil stays solid in cooler weather as seen in the photo below. When in warmer weather it is a true oil.
Picture
This beautiful oil is filled with potent plants/herbs that are amazing for healing acne. The base of the oil contains jojoba and coconut oil, both of which have many amazing benefits for the skin. The thyme oil helps to fight acne and even prevent it as well. One of my other favorite acne treatments contains thyme, and I can attest to how amazing this herb is at fighting acne. The rosemary oil in Green Leaves helps to stimulate cell renewal, while also having anti-bacterial properties. Violet leaf aids in inflammation, reducing acne, while also having anti-aging benefits. The Clementine Leaf oil also helps to keep acne at bay, while also controlling excessive oil. Holy basil is one of the most amazing adaptogenic herbs. As for its oil, it is antibacterial, antibiotic, and antifungal. Just as the clementine oil, holy basil also works to regulate oil.

All in all, this oil is AMAZING. Perfect texture, B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L scent, and potent acne fighting ingredients.
If you want to try Earthwise Beauty, which I highly recommend of course, I have a 15% off code which is 'GreenQueen'! Ava is so kind to be able to offer this to everyone.

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #3 ft. Marigold Fields

3/5/2016

Picture
Here we are again with some more thoughts on Earthwise Beauty! I am going to gush about an all time favorite named Marigold Fields.
Marigold Fields is a beautiful hand-crafted facial moisturizer that works well for sensitive, dry, mature, normal, and acne prone skin. Besides Green Leaves & Co., this is one of the first products I tried where I fell in love at first application.
Picture
We are coming up on Spring time here in Massachusetts. As the weather is changing, I am also switching up my products. Although, I could definitely have used Marigold Fields during the winter, as it is super moisturizing. But you know my love affair/obsession with Magical Babassu.(I am going to be doing an updated skincare routine soon on my YouTube channel so stay tuned for that.)

So what's to love about MF? Just about everything! Let's start with it's scent, it is absolutely magical. The blue lotus absolute, roman chamomile, and lemongrass oil make for a really unique scent profile. I find that I crave this, not just for the moisture, but for the scent as well. I always want to come back for more.

Marigold Fields makes my skin feel plump, moisturized, and brightened. It is a lightweight texture that is quickly absorbed into the skin.
I started using Marigold Fields throughout last summer, and into the autumn and winter. Marigold Fields has a silky, creamy-gel like texture when applied to the skin. Due to the ingredients it leaves your skin feeling satiny just as Magical Babassu oil does. I believe it works similar in function as it has something to do with the shared ingredient, Pracaxi oil in both facial products. Pracaxi oil helps to repair skin and has helped my skin texture in many ways. I definitely have a new obsession with Pracaxi oil.

The first ingredient in Marigold Fields is aloe vera, versus many other skincare products that usually use water as a base. I also don't think I have ever announced this, but marigold flowers are one of my all time favorite ingredients to have in my skincare. In fact, I am always on the look out for marigold in my products. The marigold flowers in the formula are double infused in organic olive oil. This moisturizer also contains organic cold pressed jojoba oil, and Pequi Fruit oil. Before using Marigold Fields, I had never heard of Pequi Fruit. Pequi fruit contains a high content of Vitamin A. Pequi has been traditionally used for eczema and other skin ailments as well. Calendula, or Marigold has been used for skin issues, inflammation, rashes, and skin dryness, or chapping. If I had to be subjective to all skin types, I would advise everyone to either try Marigold Fields or Green Leaves as their first products from Ava.

One thing I love about Ava's formulations is that she uses rare, and different ingredients that I have never heard of. She uses a lot of ingredients specifically from the rainforest that have magical healing powers that have been used for centuries. Be still my healing ingredient loving heart. With Ava's line of products, I gain knowledge and better skin. It's a win win, and a more intense love that I have for her and her creations.

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #2 ft. Organic Blackstrap Molasses Resurfacing Mask

I have mentioned this product on my Instagram, & YouTube many times, but I still have more to say! Sometimes when you love something or someone so much, you just have to keep expressing your gratitude! So here I am, exclaiming my love for the most wonderful mask I have come across.

Ingredients: Maris limus (Hungarian Moor mud), Moroccan Rhassoul red lava clay, Kaolinite (kaolin clay), Saccharum officinarum (unsulphured blackstrap molasses from Paraguay)*†, Rosa damascena hydrosol/distillate* (Bulgaria), Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) distillate* (14% alcohol; double distilled), cold-press unrefined organic Pentaclethra macroloba (pracaxi) pod oil (Brazil), L-ascorbic acid (active vit. C), natural ECOCERT-approved (for use in certified organic cosmetics) preservative {glycerin, Leuconostoc (radish root) ferment filtrate, Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, Lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) extract, Populus tremuloides bark extract, gluconolactone}, unrefined Daucus carota (carrot) seed oil*, Pelargonium graveolens (geranium) oil*, Rosa centifolia absolute*.*Certified organic. †Certified Fair Trade.

The ingredients in this mask are tailored to all skin types, but work exceptionally well with acne prone, combination, mature, and skin that lacks firmness. There are unique ingredients in this mask, filled with vital minerals such as B6, iron, magnesium, and potassium. It contains detoxifying Moor mud, and Moroccan Lava clay which cleanses pores. The pracaxi oil in it helps to heal acne and scarring. It also contains carrot seed oil which firms, heals scars, and helps to reduce hyper pigmentation and brown spots +more. The mask smells of rose, geranium, and molasses, of course. It's definitely a different scent I have never experienced. I have come to love the smell, as I'm not a total rose scented lover. I know, who am I right?

So, what more do I have to say? I use this every Sunday night as part of my relaxation ritual. I always use this mask after a facial steam, (which if you don't follow @earthwisebeauty on Instagram, you should be, as she just mentioned she is releasing her own facial steam blends in the near future) as I feel it really enhances the "spa in home" feel. I feel that steaming my face before using a mask really amplifies the outcome. I keep the mask on for about twenty minutes, as I like to be able to reap the benefits as much as I can. Once I take the mask off, my face feels moisturized and plump. I can see that my face is more bright and it also feels lifted. The next day after I use this mask, my acne is SIGNIFICANTLY reduced, if there is any left at all. This mask means serious business! I honestly don't know what I was doing with my skincare routine before this mask found its way into my life. If you're looking for something to make all your problems go away, well not actually, but skin problems, I would pick this one up.

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight ft. Ferns & Moss

Here it is, Ava's new creation, Ferns & Moss Face Serum* from Earthwise Beauty! This was launched a little over a month ago, after the Magical Babassu oil. Ava had been working on this oil for over a year, and the dedication & energy within it shows. Ferns & Moss is filled with unique ingredients, which is one of my favorite things about Ava's creations. Ferns and Moss actually happen to be two of my favorite parts of nature. To say that I was ecstatic when I found those ingredients were in there would be an understatement.

(The Ferns & Moss oil is more orange in color than pictured here.)
The scent of this is quite different than anything I have ever smelled; It is a little bit sweet, earthy, and nut like.  So, let's get to talkin' about the ingredients already! There's Andiroba oil and Copaiba balsam which are both from the Amazon rain forest. The Andiroba oil is detoxifying, antibacterial +more. The copaiba balsam helps to heal scarring, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and can help to get rid of the appearance of acne, or spots. This face serum also contains two of my favorite oils which are moringa and seabuckthorn berry oil; Both containing vital minerals, and properties for youthful, regenerating skin. Then there's tamanu oil which is antibacterial, contains antioxidants, and has wound healing properties. Calendula! O! Calendula! Another of my all time favorite skin healing ingredients. Calendula is amazing for dry chapped skin, eczema, psoriasis, and can be soothing to other skin ailments. There's also Mongongo oil  which is an African plant that is hydrating and regenerating. (+more ingredients, but these are the main ones I wanted to highlight)

Ingredients: Organic unrefined cold-press Carapa guianensis (andiroba) oil, organic unrefined cold-press Moringa oleifera oil, organic unrefined cold-press Schinziophyton rautanenii (manquetti mongongo) oil, organic unrefined unfiltered cold-press Calophyllum inophyllum* (tamanu) oil, wildcrafted Hippophae rhamnoides (seabuckthorn berry) CO2 Total extract, Calendula officinalis CO2 Total extract*, wildcrafted Copaifera officinalis (copaiba balsam) essential oil, Ferula galbaniflua (galbanum) essential oil*, unrefined cold-press Simmondsia chinensis (golden jojoba) oil*, wildcrafted Evernia prunastri (oakmoss) absolute. *Certified organic.

I am not sure where to start with what I have to say about this skincare product. I dedicated myself to a full month of using this face oil. At first, I wasn't putting this on my face when it was still moist, lesson learned. Ava suggested I use about 5 drops for my dry skin, but I feel like I only need 3. (really depends on the day)
I have seen serious improvement in my skins texture over the last month. Ferns & Moss has been great for my dry skin over time. It is definitely a different oil texture than the Magical babassu which is ultra hydrating and leaves you with a satin finish. The Ferns & Moss oil has helped my skin retain moisture, while also keeping it firm. I notice my skin isn't craving more moisture throughout the day which really surprised me. It is somewhat of a thicker oil than I have ever used, and I really enjoy its texture. I have also noticed a huge improvement in my under eye, as they are less dark, and have become less puffy. Of course diet and hydration play a role in all of this, but I haven't changed anything in my regiment, except for adding this oil in. I was a little leery after trying the Magical Babassu oil, we all know how much my skin loves that oil. I was afraid I couldn't like another oil as much as the Babassu, but I can truly say I don't think I could live without this oil. I have seen an enhancement in my skins hydration, texture, discoloration, and acne healing. I love this oil in particular for overall skin improvement and regeneration. I can't wait to use this for a longer period of time, and give more of an update. For now, it's amazing formulation has definitely wowed me!

**This oil was sent to me by Earthwise Beauty! As always, I am 100% honest with my reviews and would never steer someone in the wrong way. What may work for my skin may not work for yours, but this is my piece of what I thought of this skincare product.**
