*Ambrosia del Cerrado, one of the most unique formulations of skincare I have tried thus far! It is a Vegan, cruelty free, organic, cold pressed, handcrafted, small batch product, as all Earthwise Beauty products are! This is described as a liquid moisturizer/toner. Ambrosia gives more hydration than the conventional toner, but feels lightweight on the skin. Ambrosia del Cerrado was given a Portuguese name to focus on the Cerrado area in Brazil, which is considered the richest savanna in the world by the World Wide Fund of Nature. It is a beautifully colored, golden/orange liquid that has a scent of a freshly opened fruit. There are no added essential oils to this, so it is perfect for someone who is sensitive to them. The Pequi fruit and moringa oil give it the light scent of tropical summer. When I use this, I feel as though I am putting the rays of the sun on my face! (Except it has a cooling effect from the aloe, and it doesn't burn of course!) Like many of Ava's products, this has an aloe base. When I was on vacation I was very drawn to this product. Between using this and the Chamomile & Lavender face gel, I was all set with the perfect skincare combination. This is great for all skin types, oily, combo, and acne prone. It is especially great for those who have acne prone skin, since it doesn't contain any waxes which can cause breakouts. Ambrosia del Cerrado is a lightweight oil that leaves your skin feeling supple and brightened. The oil sinks right into your skin, while keeping you moisturized at the same time. My Thoughts? This was actually one of the first products I had ever tried from Earthwise Beauty in a sample form. I'm going to be honest and say that I was not a fan of this through first impressions. There are a couple reasons for this; I was still using other products that were making my skin unbelievably dry, I hadn't been using Earthwise products that have been extremely nourishing for my skin as I do now, I didn't top it with another moisturizer, and I didn't use it in the way that I do today. Don't let this deter you from trying it if you have dry skin, because I have some tips to spill. Ava recommended that I use this while my face was still damp, and OH MY, did it make a difference! Thank you Ava! I also add another nourishing oil on top of this, such as Magical Babassu, or Marigold Fields. I am elated that she gave me this little piece of advice, because I would have been truly missing out. I decided to buy a big size to dedicate my time and energy towards testing this out fairly, and I am really happy that I did. Sometimes you just have to try things different ways, and see what happens. I am now living for this oil, and it is has become a staple in my routine. Ingredients Aloe barbadensis whole-leaf cold-press juice*, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Caryocar braziliensis (pequi) fruit oil, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Mauritia flexuosa (buriti) fruit oil, sustainably wildcrafted cold-press unrefined Moringa oleifera seed oil, polysorbate 20 (naturally derived), potassium sorbate (natural preservative), non-GMO tocopherol (vit. E), xanthan gum, ascorbic acid (vit. C), citric acid. *Certified organic. Aloe vera certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) for purity and content. All our imported hand-extracted plant oils are fair trade. I love that Ava spotlights different ingredients from Indigenous places in the world. The Pequi fruit oil is something I had never heard of before. It comes from Brazil and it is packed with nutrients, such as Vitamin A, B1, and B2. This fruit oil helps to give supple, and firm skin. The Moringa oil is a powerhouse of nutrients as well. I have written a blog post on a particular Moringa Oil a while back if you would like to take a read, here. The Buriti oil in this is also known for its anti-aging effects, while also reducing scars and brown spots. Have you been interested in something revolutionary and different to add to your skincare routine?! I recommend checking out Ambrosia! This is part of Earth Wise Beauty's Summer Essentials, you can check out what else they put together for this season, here! & Make sure to follow them on Instagram @Earthwisebeauty. Ava posts the most stunning photos, and has a wealth of knowledge on there. Don't miss out! ;) I also have a 15% off code for you to use, which is 'GreenQueen' As always thanks for reading!! xo

Have you tried Angel Face Botanicals? If not, I am going to stop you right here, and tell you that you need to! AFB was created by the owner, Jessica. Jess is a plant and crystal intuitive, using her healing throughout her range of skincare products. After years of having health problems from using conventional products, Jess discovered the world of essential oils and plant healing. She used her knowledge and will for self love to create a beautiful range of products. When there is love, spirit, and energy within a product/company, it makes it that much more special and effective (at least for me, that is). Angel Face Botanicals uses organic and wildcrafted ingredients in their products. They craft their own extracts, infusions, and gemstone elixirs, while also using the whole plant. They are a cruelty free company, who also uses recycled packaging. The owner offers a DIY book that she wrote on 100 skincare recipes! (How neat!) I align with Angel Face Botanicals as a brand in so many ways, which is why this blog post is extra exciting for me. Okay, onto the product reviews now. Here is the *Super Detox Deep Pore Facial Cleanser! I tested this product on its own beforehand so I could truly see results. If you follow my blog/channel, you know that I take at least a month to test a product out before I will review it. I want to be able to give an informed amount of information on a product, which is important to me. When I woke up the first morning after I used this, my skin had SERIOUSLY detoxed. I had a HUGE bump on my chin, where I must have had some severely clogged pores. I wouldn't recommend trying this out if you have a wedding or important event the next day, since it will make your skin purge. After a couple days to a week of first using this, my skin completely cleared up. I had these clusters of acne on my cheeks for months that I could not get rid of, and this cleared it up in days. Welcome to my world, new favorite cleanser! As I started using this regularly for weeks, I started to reduce its use in my routine. I would say I use it about 3 times a week now at night, as that is what seems to be working for my skin. The Super Detox cleanser is full of beautiful, detoxifying, and beneficial ingredients. The key ingredients would be MSM, Activated Charcoal, DMAE, Aloe, and White Willow Bark. It doesn't leave my skin stripped either, as other detoxifying cleansers have in the past. I also wanted to mention that this smells like an Aveda product, but it's completely naturally scented and doesn't give me a headache. (HOORAY!) It's simply divine! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product to keep your skin in check! I'm going to admit I've been a serious toner hater in the past, until this magical potion made it into my life. This is the *Grace toner, and it is packed with nourishing and skin cell repairing ingredients. Using this in addition with the Super Detox cleanser has definitely made a difference in my skin and its ability to retain moisture. Anything that has a base of aloe draws me in right away. I incorporated the toner into my routine with the cleanser and kept everything else the same for another few weeks. If you are really trying to see if a product is working for you, I recommend trying this routine as well. After using this for weeks in combination with the cleanser, my skin had become more bright and less red as each day went on. Finally, a toner that actually works and nourishes at the same time. I find myself wanting to spray more when I am using it, as the scent of clary sage is magical in and of itself. This does contain Retinol A, so I have decided to use it only at night time. I do wear sunscreen every day, which you can put on top of this to protect yourself form the effects of the Retinol A. But, it's all up to you, boo! I'm going to mention these two, as I use them in conjunction. First, I like to use the *Lavender Oil-Free Clarifying Serum, and then put the *Light Featherweight Facial Moisturizer on top. I definitely feel that when I use these together they elevate one another. I tried both separately and it didn't work out too well for me. If you know my skin type, I have VERY dry skin, which needs the utmost moisture in the world. Since the weather has been getting warmer, I can tolerate using just these two as my moisturizer. When I was testing these out in the spring time, I was needing another moisturizer to go on top of the two. For myself, I wouldn't be able to use these anytime except for summer. I feel like these would be great for someone who has oily or normal skin, especially the clarifying serum. I think, for myself, I might do better trying out their Jasmine Exquisite cream, as it seems more suitable for dry skin. To finish up this overview, let's talk about a body product. We all love a good body scrub, don't we!? This is the *Double Love Exfoliating Body Scrub. This scrub is full of lavender! If you are a lavender lover, as I am, run and pick this up! It is such a relaxing scrub to use, and it just puts you at ease. I have been drawn to salt scrubs now more than ever. I love being able to get the benefits from the Himalayan salt over sugar any day! This scrub is exfoliating and absolutely moisturizing. When you step out of the shower, you don't need to moisturize any further. I would say it's a lazy person's dream. I would much rather have a good quality scrub which can do both for me. When I finish this one, I plan on picking up the Tonic Scrub for my sore muscles, it sounds heavenly! Overall, I am loving the vibe, ethics, and product formulations from Angel Face Botanicals. I think you guys need to check them out. I have a couple more of their products on my radar, such as: the Palo Santo oil, Sweet Dreams, Clear Skies, Divinity Body Oil, & Flower Power Wellness Bath + more. What AFB product calls your name? Thank you for reading as always, xo. Make sure to check out their website here: Angel Face Botanicals Instagram @angelfacebotanicals Jess was kind enough to also give us a discount code. Use the code 'AndieGreenQueen' for 15% off thru 6/30/16. Enjoy, and be sure to let me know what you pick up! *These products were sent to me for review. As always, I am 100% with my readers. Getting a product for free does not change my opinion. I value integrity and honesty.* It's been a while since one of my last spotlight posts. Welcome back! We are talking about the *Chamomile and Lavender Face Gel today! This is one of the first products developed by Ava, that she has been selling for ten years. This face gel is an organic, oil free moisturizer with an aloe base. As always, Ava's products are cold-pressed, organic, using unrefined oils, and hand crafted in small batches. Chamomile & Lavender is similar in its texture to Carrot-a-Day. This face gel can be used as moisturizer on its own, or underneath a heavier moisturizer if you feel the need. As of right now, in the summer, I can use this on its own without my face feeling dried out. Chamomile and Lavender face gel works for all skin types; normal, oily, combo, sensitive, acne prone, and dry. Now that it is hot out, I find that I am needing more of a light moisturizer. Since this is aloe based, it is extremely soothing on the face. Before trying Earth Wise Beauty, I had never used an aloe based skincare product. Quite frankly, I find myself more drawn to aloe based products now and it's hard to turn away from them. That being said, this is perfect in the hot summer months especially if you keep it in the refrigerator. Just imagine coming home from being in the sun all day and then slathering this cool gel on your face! Now, how magical does that sound? I used this when I came back from the desert recently, and it helped sooth the irritation from my sunburn. Voila, just like that! If you're going on vacation, I highly recommend picking up a sample of this. Ingredients: Aloe vera barbadensis leaf fillet*, non-GMO tocopherol (vit. E), polysorbate 20 (naturally derived), Lavandula angustifolia (French high-altitude lavender) oil*, natural ECOCERT approved (for use in certified organic cosmetics) preservative {glycerin, Leuconostoc (radish root) ferment filtrate, Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle) flower extract, Lonicera caprifolium (honeysuckle) extract, Populus tremuloides bark extract, glucono-lactone}, carbomer, ascorbic acid (vit. C), Matricaria recutita (German blue chamomile) oil*, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract.*Certified organic. Aloe vera certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) for purity and content. Not only does this face gel soothe the skin, but it also helps reduce redness. The German Blue Chamomile also aids in this, plus adds anti-inflammatory benefits. The lavender and rosemary oils also help to reduce and heal acne. I would say this is the cousin to Carrot-a-Day in other ways than just the texture. Both Carrot-a-Day and Chamomile and lavender share some of the same ingredients, yet function in different ways. Lavender and Chamomile is a more gentle face gel which is especially great for sensitive skin. It is more moisturizing then C-a-D as well, and leaves your face feeling rejuvenated and calm. C-a-D is definitely more of a powerhouse, anti-spot reducing and tightening face gel. Both extremely effective, but in different ways. I wanted to bring this point up for those who may want a more gentle skin treatment for sensitive skin. As always, thank you for reading! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Coming into the world of natural products means opening yourself to a whole new variety of routines. |
