Pacific Northwest Essences by Earthwise Beauty ft. White Yarrow

7/24/2017

Picture
If you are into Eco Beauty, I am sure you have heard of the organic, handcrafted, small batch, skincare company called Earthwise Beauty. The owner of Earthwise Beauty has taken to flower essences in the past couple of years as her interest in adding them to her products grew into something more. Ava engrossed herself in every book she could get her hands on and took extensive courses on flower essences. Now Ava offers 33 different essences, and the opportunity to have a custom blend made.

At this point, if you aren't familiar with flower essences, I am sure you are wondering what the heck they are? I have posted about flower essences over the past couple of years as they have helped me in different ares of my life greatly. The best way to describe flower essences in my mind, is that they are the vibrational energy of a flower. Have you ever looked at a flower and just immediately felt happy? Does the scent of flowers put you in a good mood? Well, flower essences work in the same way as they do when we interact with them in the instances I mentioned above. Flower essences are made by thoughtfully picking the flowers, placing them in a bowl of filtered water, and leaving it out in the sun for a couple of hours. The vibrational energies soak into the water, and from there the water is added to alcohol and diluted a couple of times. That's pretty much the gist of the logistics of flower essence making.

Here are the ingredients as listed on Ava's website: water, gluten-free brandy (from grapes; a preservative), infusion of wild grown White yarrow (Achillea millefolium). Alcohol 22% by volume.
Picture
A couple of summers ago, I was having extreme anxiety problems over constant construction outside of my house from 6AM-7PM. Can you imagine loud banging and beeping all day ling from April to November? I was losing it. I contacted Ava and told her I started taking a flower essence that ended up really helping me in the end. If it weren't for that essence, I don't know what I would have done. So here I am now, I hopped on the essence bandwagon after seeing how much that one in particular had helped.

After this conversation about my experience, we had talked a lot about flower essences, and I asked her if there was one for empaths? I am someone who feels overwhelmed by being around and talking to people all day, while absorbing their woes. Now you'll find that hilarious, as I am a barista and I talk to at least 300 people in one morning. You know how people who are bartenders say they are basically a therapist since everyone tells them all of their problems? I would say it's the same for Baristas. When I come home from work I feel completely drained from talking, and simply absorbing everyone's energies. You can imagine how many grumpy and mean customers we get, and sometimes I really pick up on that even when I try to fight it. So here we are, Ava recommended the White Yarrow flower essence and the rest is history. White Yarrow as described on her website is for people who are over-sensitive, or are having a hard time adjusting to the amount of interaction you're having in city life. Sounded perfect for me, right? Ava recommended taking 2-3 drops of this essence 3-4 times a day. I just drop this essence into my water and drink it throughout the day.

At this point, I am on my fourth or fifth bottle of this particular essence. I can't even explain in words how much this has helped me in so many ways, except I am going to try. I think of this one time in particular where I took my essence in the morning. There was a customer who was behind the one I was helping, who had been standing there for at least two minutes tops. When I was done with my previous customer I said 'Hi, how are you?," He replied, "SICK OF WAITING, GET ME A COFFEE," in the most rude tone. I am telling you this man waited two minutes, and if you go to coffee shops then you know that's not long. Normally I would have immediately let this affect me, and just turned inward and sulked around. It is extremely difficult when you are working hard and people treat you like this. Try to find anyone who it wouldn't affect? It gets even the best of us! Even if you tell yourself don't let it bother you, you can't help how you feel inside. That day I had already taken my essence and that mans bad mood couldn't touch me. When I handed him his coffee I said "I hope you have a great dayyyyy!," with the biggest smile on my face. I took the next customer and realized I wasn't bothered, and I questioned as to why I wasn't? I immediately realized the essence had helped me, otherwise I know that in those instances, I am always affected.

Not only has it helped me in those types of ways, it helps me from feeling overwhelmed throughout the day when I am around a large amount of people. I notice when I have taken my essence that I am less fatigued mentally those days. For months I was taking my essence and then one day I just stopped. I seem to do this when my life is going well, and I forget that I am taking something that has been helping me because it has become part of my routine. Two weeks after I stopped taking the essence I was asking myself why I felt so defeated by work every day. Self reflection ensued and then I realized, oh yeah, hey, you're not taking your essence! So, I started taking it again, a couple of weeks ago, and that's what inspired me to write this post.

If you are an energy sponge like myself and feel helpless when always surrounded by people, I highly recommend trying this out. Like I said above, it's hard to describe in words how much this has helped me since the feelings are all inside me, but I know it helps. Besides the time above, I have tested taking it out of my life and re-incorporating it, and I came to the conclusion; this essence has helped and changed my life for the better. The only other thing that helps me in this way is by going out into the woods, as it gives the same effects of clearing my mind, and taking away all the negative energies I may be carrying around. Although I would love to be swinging from tree branches and sitting in moss all day, alas I cannot. Taking this essence daily is my answer to help me live a life without being bogged down by negative energies, or just overwhelming energies.

I have spoken with other friends who have taken this essence and have received great feedback as well. I am elated to know that us people who are sensitive to energies have a solution.

Bare Element March Box Review

3/21/2017

Picture
Bare Element is a new subscription box to the green beauty space! I have received their last three boxes, and they have been stellar every time.I will give you the run down here, as I have been doing video unboxings of these, which I will link down below. I always like to introduce things that I am loving on multiple platforms, so I thought a blog post was appropriate.

With Bare Element you will receive only full size items, which is amazing! This box goes for $49.99, but if you use the code 'andie' you can get 10% off. (This is not an affiliate code, just a way for you to save some money, yay!) You can also either become a subscription member, or purchase boxes separately. To purchase boxes separately you can go: here. I've also been able to get to know the owner through emails and she is a super sweet individual. I always love when there is someone behind the scenes running a business with PMA and good vibes!

Each box comes with a detailed description card of each product that is in the box, that looks like this:
Picture

So let's get into this box! I am sure you saw the picture of what's in this month's box above! Looks pretty amazing huh?
Picture
This is the Malaya hair oil in all of its glory. I have had my eye on Malaya products since I saw them at the inaugural Indie Beauty Expo. To say that I was excited to see this product in the box is an understatement. I am a curly haired girl, give me a hair oil, and I am your best friend. If there are other curly girls out there, you know the struggle in trying to find good hair products.

Now, as I type this, I have only had this box for 8 days, but I have been using this hair oil every day. I typically try products for up to a month before I mention them, but I wanted to be able to share this for others who were interested in the box. Long story short, I am really liking the hair oil. I have been pretty underwhelmed by some hair products, as I have found some amazing staples, so I am always leary when I try a new hair product. Luckily this hair oil gives you hair as soft as my fluffy cat! I love using this for my frizzy days, which let's be real, is every day! You can use this oil as a styling product to combat frizz and dryness, or use it as a leave-in treatment. I haven't used this as a leave-in yet, but I will update everyone somewhere when I do.

So far I have used this on my hair when I get out of the shower, or on second day hair when it's dry. I have enjoyed the effects of both, as it leaves my hair silky smooth. I have a lot of different hair oils, but none of them make my hair this smooth, so I am a happy camper!

This hair oil also smells amazing, containing Organic essential oils of clary sage, Bulgarian Rose Absolute, Sandalwood Oil, and Geranium Oil. It is not overly scented either like a lot of hair oils. I know I will be able to enjoy this on days when I have a migraine, so I am very pleased! Also, this product is valued at $48, so it pretty much already makes up the price of the box.
Picture
Ah, deodorant, how we know what a struggle it can be to work with. In this box we received the Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free Deodorant in Lavender. As you can see in the picture, I am already loving the Grapefruit version, and I am always happy to have a backup deodorant.

If you are having an adverse reaction to a deodorant that contains baking soda, I would say hop on over and try this bad boy. Instead of baking soda, this contains dietary magnesium and arrowroot powder to control those pits and all of its woes. It is also contains a blend of nourishing oils and butters which keeps your armpits nice and moisturized.

I personally don't have a baking soda issue... Although, I did recently try out a new deodorant, and I was incredibly itchy from the baking soda. I immediately switched back to this version, and within about a day, my pits were healed and happy again. I think from now on I will stick to this formula, as it's never done me wrong. I personally love Meow Meow Tweet and I think their formulas are perfection, this goes for a lot of their other products I've tried too.

As you can probably see, this is not a stick formula. It may take time to get used to scooping something out onto your pits, but after a while it becomes second nature. I always love when I have someone over, and I'm like wait, I forgot my deodorant! I wip my pot out and then apply my deodorant, fingers to pits, fingers to pits! I always forget how unusual this is to someone who just uses a stick, and has never seen anyone apply deo with their fingers. But then again, my friends are used to my weird holistic ways of spreading oils, herbs, and dropping things under my tongue. I always get called a witch, which feels like home to me.

This deodorant retails for $14.

Picture
Last but not least, we have the Wabisabi Botanicals MULA Amazonion Super mask! Wabisabi is a newish brand to me, as I've just tried their Budhi Eye Nectar a couple of months ago, which I love by the way! I have been hearing so much buzz about Wabisabi, so I am pleased to be able to try another product from them. I feel a strong connection to this brand. Sometimes we are just energetically drawn to something, and it feels good! I think one reason why I am drawn to Wabisabi is because they use a lot of unique ingredients. They also support fair trade, ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients. Wabisabi also does not use any palm oil which I really support.

MULA is  Buddhist term, meaning 'roots'. In this mask, there are ingredients that are formulated to give your skin a boost of antioxidants. The mask also is said to purify your pores, give you a boosting glow, and help to repair damaged and tired skin.

The MULA mask does contain cassia cinnamon and ginger, so for those that are very sensitive, I would be aware. I usually don't have very sensitive skin, but this made my face red for about an hour afterward. My face did not seem happy at all. But I will say, when I woke up, the sebum in my nose was all cleared, and my skin did seem fresh and awake! It definitely took away some of my texture as well. I think the next time I try this, I will add some honey so it might not be as harsh, as there is a tingling from the ingredients I mentioned above. I did really enjoy the scent too, which was chocolatel-y, with a hint of vanilla.

This mask is retailed at $46.
All together the products in this box are valued at $108, but you pay $49.99. I think subscription boxes, especially this one, are a great way to try a product that you may have your eye on, but don't want to pay full price for. You also get to try new companies and products that you may necessarily wouldn't have chosen for yourself. Click here to sign up for the subscription box! Below are my previous unboxing videos if you would like to see what's been in the boxes. The boxes from the previous months are still available to purchase until they sell out.

December Box: Video
January Box: Video
February: Video
I Hope you guys enjoyed this review of the March Bare Element Subscription Box! Let me know if you have tried any of these products or are going to pick up this months box! :) I have really been enjoying these boxes. I feel like Basha (the owner) does a great job at curating. So far we have received everything from bath bombs, to lipstick, to toners, to body scrubs, to hair products and so on! I don't feel at all overloaded by one certain group of products which I feel can be overwhelming when subscribed to a box.

Hoping all is well with everyone! Thank you for reading XOXO

*Box was sent to me for review purposes. As always, I will be 100% with my readers. Because something is sent to me does not change my views.

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #9 ft. Nap in the Meadow Face Serum

1/24/2017

Picture
Nap in the Meadow is one of the newer creations made by Ava from Earthwise Beauty. This is a unique non-drying, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, acne reducing, and antioxidant filled face serum. But let's get real here, what product from Earthwise Beauty isn't unique? If you are reading this, I am sure you are aware of how much I love Earthwise Beauty.

Nap in the Meadow is a gorgeous pale blue, and or green color depending on the batch. Just the color alone brings me to a happy place. The scent of the face serum is floral, yet herbal at the same time. I would say Ava hit the nail on the head, it literally smells like a nap in the meadow!
Picture
Nap in the Meadow is made for all skin types, especially dry, mature, acne, combination, oily, and skin with eczema, rosacea, and psoriasis.

Nap in the Meadow is a lightweight serum, that is based in aloe. For me personally, this serum is a does all kind of product. I have found that it takes away redness, balances skin, heals scars, and takes away texture while smoothing out the skin. I never leave this serum out of my skincare routine. Although, I have tested weeks without it so I could truly test its efficacy. When I wasn't using this serum, my skin reverted back to being dull, red, and textured. If anyone were new to Earthwise, I would recommend trying this product first. This serum contains potent ingredients made for many different skin ailments. Not only does the face serum contain amazing ingredients, but there is also the addition of flower essences explained down below.

Ingredients:
Aloe leaf juice*, elderberry fruit extract, turmeric CO2 Total supercritical extract, polysorbate 20 (naturally derived), lavender oil (* and †), yarrow oil*, Italian everlasting oil†, German blue chamomile oil*, potassium sorbate (natural preservative), organic geranium bourbon oil, geranium rose oil*, copaiba balsam resin†, galbanum oil*, xanthan gum, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), wildflower essences†.
*Certified organic.

†Responsibly wildcrafted.

Turmeric is an amazing anti-inflammatory which makes it a great ingredient to have in a face serum. Then there's Yarrow oil which has anti-inflammatory properties, but also helps to heal acne and balance out oily skin. German Blue Chamomile is another ingredient which decreases skin inflammation. The Helichrysum revitalizes skin tissue, being beneficial for wrinkles, and scar healing. The Lavender oil is used in the serum is to help combat constant dryness. Rose geranium and geranium bourbon are also used to help dryness. Elderberry Extract adds a healthy dose of antioxidants to reverse skin aging. Galbanum aids in skin tissue repair. Copaiba balsam resin helps to heal acne. Lastly, there's aloe, which helps reduce inflammation and helps repair tissues.

The following meadow wildflower essences, all made by Ava following the procedure used by Edward Bach, were included: white yarrow (for protection), silvery lupine (for strength, and longevity; youth preserving), wild rose (for youth, beauty, and skin firmness), and pink phlox (to preserve one's gentle qualities and innocence).

For people who may not know what flower essences are, they are the energetic vibrations from flowers.

Talk about a serious face serum!

FLOWER EVOLUTION: Red Bird of Paradise ft. Inspired Action

(Above picture is not my photograph)

This blog post is 'inspired' (ha, see what I did there), by the book launch of Flower Evolution: Blooming Into Your Potential With the Magic of Flowers by Katie Hess. Katie Hess is the owner of the company Lotus Wei. Her brand is based on flower essences in the form of elixirs, mists, anointing oils, serums, perfumes & more. Flower essences work as energetic vibrations through the body. They counteract the issues we are having and work on them in different ways based on the different essences.

I can't even begin to explain how enthralled I am about the new book, as I have been a long devotee of Lotus Wei. In this book, Katie will be delving into 48 different flowers, and how they can benefit and transform your life. Also included, is the amazing photography shot by Louie Schwartzberg. If you haven't seen any of his photographs, or cinematography, you have to! A lot of his work is on Netflix as of now, go and check it out, you will be AMAZED. I put his films on when I want to relax.

In reference to the 48 flowers, this post is part of a blog ring which will link to each bloggers take on an individual flower. Keep reading, and when you get to the end, make sure to click on and read everyone's experience.

In collaboration with the launch of the book, I have been testing out the Inspired Action elixir. I had been drawn to Red Bird of Paradise which is one of the flower essences in the Inspired Action elixir. When choosing an essence, Katie has you visually look at photos of flowers, and pick which ones you are most drawn to. For me, I couldn't take my eyes off of Red Bird of Paradise. I recently went to Arizona in May where I stayed with a friend. I remember standing inside her living room, staring out at this magnificent flower bush. I immediately went outside and marveled in its beauty. I couldn't step away, as it's energy and essence was one of the most remarkable things I had been called to.

This is the description of Red Bird of Paradise from Lotus Wei:
Activate: Focus
Message: Get it Done

The Red Bird of Paradise is a fiery gem. The flowers look like exploding orchids, bursting open into flames of orange, red, and yellow. The electric-red stamens reach out in long beautiful strands, and the leaves range from the deepest greens to blue. It flourishes in intense environments like the Sonoran desert, where the summertime temperatures can rise over 115 degrees! Instead of withering, it channels the hot sun and unfurls into a passionate display of floral fire. If you’re drawn to the Red Bird of Paradise, there may be something on your to-do list that you’ve been avoiding. Even though it may be high priority and important to you, you find yourself procrastinating. Red Bird of Paradise elixir motivates and inspires us to get things done. It fills us with passion and drive, and makes projects that we’ve previously put off effortless to finish. It dissolves struggle and resistance and helps us act with ease.
Picture
Here I am now, accepting the Red Bird of Paradise essence into my body, and I want to share my experience with you. I'm going to be honest when I say that I am THE biggest procrastinator of all time. All throughout school I would write my papers at 2 AM, having to be up for 5:30. If I had any type of deadline, I sometimes never reached it, and would even pass things in late. I have no excuse, I just like to rush things, what can I say? It makes sense as to why I was drawn to Red Bird of Paradise. I was actually pretty shocked as I read the description since it's pretty dead on!

How did I fair with the essence? The first day I received this essence, I immediately popped it under my tongue. About a couple hours later that day, I was putting away laundry that had been sitting in a basket for two weeks, no joke. For the next couple of weeks, I experienced the same phenomenon happening with everything that I was doing. I was finishing blog posts, I was cleaning, I was getting everything done that I needed to.

In the mornings I take 5 drops of this essence sublingually. Throughout the day I will add 5 more drops into my water, multiple times throughout the day. In taking this essence, I  have also noticed that I am more focused. I have the power to focus on projects now that I would otherwise get distracted from. Besides procrastination and focus, this essence has also helped in reinventing my creativity in many ways. I didn't realize how much of a creative rut I had been in before I had been taking this elixir. I have so many projects up my sleeve at all times now, it's as if I don't have the time to procrastinate. I guess I didn't realize how strong of an effect I would have based on this essence. Not that I doubted Lotus Wei, or the power of flowers, but I have been pretty blown away. Once you open yourself up to new things, the possibilities are endless.

If this in anyway describes you, I highly recommend taking the Inspired Action elixir. Or if you are drawn to Red Bird of Paradise like I am, your body might be sending you signals, like mine did. I am beyond pleased with this elixir, and I will forever be an Inspired Action user.

100 Organic Skincare Recipes:Head to Toe Pumpkin Mask

11/2/2016

Picture
Well it's Autumn of course, so I thought this would be the perfect time to do a pumpkin DIY. Nothing like a Head to Toe Pumpkin Mask to get you in the spirit! I mean you will be literally COVERED in pumpkin. So let's jump in.

First off, I want to mention that this book is written by Jessica Ress who is the owner of Angel Face Botanicals. After Jess sent me some of her products some odd months ago, I fell in love with her ethos, products, and energy. Jess is a plant and crystal intuitive. She's studied aromatherapy, reiki, crystal reiki healing, sound healing, and herbalism.

Her book goes over everything from facial masks/scrubs, moisturizers, facial oils, eye creams, body butters, infusions, bath/spa products, + more. I love the variety of projects that you can do yourself with this book. A lot of these recipes contain very simple ingredients and are not hard to re-create at all. Jess recommends to make these recipes with focused healing intentions and lots of love. I loved that little inspiration at the beginning of the book to get you going.
Picture
So let's get on with this DIY!
This is described as a nourishing, skin-brightening, soothing and moisturizing mask.
Here's what you'll need: (Yields 1-2 Full Body Masks)
1 Cup flesh of one small pumpkin, pre-prepared, or 1 can pumpkin
1/2 Cup of Cooked Oatmeal
1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I used Avocado, that's all I had)
1 Teaspoon Fresh Grated Ginger
1/2 Teaspoon Fresh Grated Orange Zest
1 Tablespoon Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
1/2 Cup of Raw Turbinado Sugar

Before I did anything with the other ingredients, I first cooked the oatmeal. Then I refrigerated the oatmeal letting it cool down before I moved on. For this recipe I decided to go with an organic can of pumpkin instead of using a fresh one. Then, in a medium sized bowl I used a fork to blend the cinnamon, avocado oil, and oatmeal together. The recipe recommends letting those ingredients sit together for 10-15 minutes. After letting that sit, I added the pumpkin along with the ginger, orange juice, and orange zest. After stirring, add the sugar and make sure to blend well.

To store the mask: put it in the refrigerator for a few days in an airtight container.

To use the mask: Jess recommends to take a quick shower or to use after a long soak in the tub to soften skin and remove toxins. The warmth of the shower will help to open your pores more easily for the mask to absorb into the skin. It is recommended to towel dry and then apply the mask all over your body. For me, I just sat on my shower chair while simultaneously letting a hair mask saturate my hair. It was a full pamper day in my house. I let the mask sit for about 10 minutes, but you can do up to 15 minutes. You will also want to use this on your face, keeping it on for the recommended 5-7 minutes. After the allotted time I washed both masks off. It is recommended to use a mild soap after. I used Dr. Bronner's. (Keep reading to see what I thought of this recipe)
Picture
Honestly I think the last time my skin was this soft is the day I was born. It may sound like I am exaggerating, but this was intensely moisturizing. My skin was super plump and hydrated. I also smelled like a pumpkin pie which was quite nice. I kind of wanted to lick this off my skin, so don't do this mask if you're hungry! I did have a bit of trouble in getting this to stay on my skin. Once I sat very still and just accepted my position, I didn't have much of it fall off. There was a slight tingling that occurred, but nothing that made it uncomfortable. The ginger and cinnamon are warming agents to the skin. Overall it was definitely a fun way to get nutrients and hydrate my body. I much more preferred to use it on my face though.

The face mask resulted in my skin appearing more bright, plump, and just down right rejuvenated. I think I would do this DIY more so knowing that I would be using it for my face. I was kind of terrified thinking of clogging my drains since I live in a very old house. I wonder if this would work sitting outside in the sun and rinsing it off with a hose after? I think I shall try it in the summer time.

Any who, I had such a fun time making it. I always love DIYs, so when Jess asked to collaborate on this, I was pumped. I've actually done another DIY based off of one of her other recipes that I will be sharing in some time.

Earthwise Beauty Spotlight #8 ft. Aphrodite Facial Steam (Wildcrafted & Organic Herbs)

9/12/2016

Picture
What in the world is a facial steam? Some people who are new to the idea of skincare routines are always perplexed by facial steams. As a lover of beauty regimens, I have been doing steams for quite sometime. Many cultures have been facial/body steaming for centuries. Facial steams help to open up your pores and release any clogged dirt within. Steaming can also be beneficial in reducing acne while also helping with circulation, etc.

How to do a facial steam at home: Simply put the herbs into a bowl(about 4-5 tablespoons), heat some water in a kettle to a boil, pour the water into the bowl, and kick off your shoes, relax and put a towel over you head, and get to steamin'! The recommended steaming time is 5 to 10 minutes. I can only steam for five, as I have a really awful neck. But even within that five minutes, it is pure bliss. A little spoiler of what is to come down below. ;)

Aphrodite facial steam, a new release to Earthwise Beauty in July of this year. Ava wildcrafted most of the herbs in the steam. The herbs were set to dry in the sun, and then be picked apart by Ava herself. Her in-laws even brought the highest quality Pu-erh tea from China to add to her steam. Ava selected herbs that would nourish, soothe, and moisturize the skin. All of the herbs are from this Spring and Summer, making them super fresh.(Picture posted below is a close up of the inside of the Kraft bag featuring the steam. All of the herbs come dried and smell absolutely divine.)
Picture
 Ingredients:
Calendula officinalis flowers(* or organic from our gardens), Helichrysum arenarium flowers(* or ^), Althaea officinalis (marshmallow) root*, Matricaria chamomilla (German chamomile) flowers*, Tilia europaea (linden tree) flowers and leaves(* or ^), Centella asiatica (gutu kola)*,Equisetum laevigatum(water horsetail)^,Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) petals (* or ^), Symphytum uplandicum (comfrey) leaves (* or organic from our gardens), Camellia sinensis (puerh tea) leaves.    *Certified organic. ^ Responsibly wildcrafted.

You can read further on the website about each herb and how it is useful in this steam.

I have to say I had high hopes for this steam, and Ava surpassed them, as always. If you read my blog, or follow me anywhere, you know I think that Ava is a skincare wizard!
When you open the bag of this steam, you are immediately engulfed in the scent of fresh herbs. The steam smells even better when you are steaming, as it takes you away to a forest near a lake. I can feel the willow trees swaying behind me, the flowers dancing in the wind, and the little critters running all over the land. This steam is spa quality relaxation.
Ava puts all of her energies into this steam, and you can feel them throughout the experience. One of the reasons I have come to love Ava's products is that there is more that meets the eye. She doesn't just create amazing formulations, but her products have an energy force I can't really describe. There are only a couple of other companies I get this from, and when I do, I stick with them. The plants within the steam make me feel at home, even though I am home when I am steaming. At home in a sense that I feel as I am one with them. I hope that others get this feeling too, as it is magical and comforting. Doing a steam weekly is beneficial for your skin, but also a great time to meditate and be still. I have been all about just being as of late, and it's a great state of mind.
As for my skin, the steam is extremely moisturizing. I highly recommend steaming if you have dry skin (or irritated, acne prone, or just have skin in general). Steaming has helped balance my skin over time. Each time after steaming my skin is soft, supple, and feels new. I can see a brightness in my skin, where before it had become dull with all of life's doing! I love being able to bring my skin back to life each week through this ritual. I don't see facial steaming as a luxury anymore, as I have come to crave its ways of healing. Steaming weekly is a must have for me, as the results are just too good not to notice or not care about. If your skin feels and looks like it needs to be renewed, I highly recommend steaming. I recommend picking this steam up more than any others I have tried. I make a DIY steam, but I have to say I prefer this one over mine. Yup, I said it.

Thank you for reading. Make sure to pick this up before it's all sold out, as it is a limited time product. I ran to the computer and bought it the week after, fearing that it would have already been gone, haha. You can use the code 'GreenQueen' for 15% off. I don't get any kick back from this code. I truly LOVE Earthwise beauty and enjoy supporting the brand and its owner Ava. Also, Ava is kind enough to offer it to the people who want to try out her products! :)

Picture
Come along and taste the most amazing flower essence filled chocolates! Come on, you know you want to! ;)

If you know Lotus Wei, the amazing flower essence company created by Katie Hess, then you know their sister company, Wei of Chocolate. Wei of Chocolate is run by Lisa Reinhardt, who like Katie Hess, just exudes inner peace, calmness, and awareness to the beauty of the world. Lisa combined the worlds of meditation and chocolate, a genius idea I might add. What a way to to get people to relax, slow down, and simply be. One quote that I think of is "The next message you need is always right where you are."-Ram Dass
Picture
Wei of Chocolate is vegan, dairy free, soy free, gluten free, organic fair trade chocolate and GMO free. These chocolates are made with coconut blossom sugar making it low glycemic. The chocolate also only contain 2g carbs and 30 calories per piece. Oh yeah, they are also infused with flower essences from Lotus Wei! Probably the best idea for a chocolate EVER! They currently sell nine different flavors, but the Wei Love is soon to be discontinued, and replaced with a new exciting flavor. (Go catch the Wei Love while it's on sale before it's gone.) You can purchase these in a 30 piece box, or an 8 piece tube. The tube is also perfect for travel. Isn't the packaging adorable? I love how each one comes individually wrapped making them easy for on the go.
So what're the flavors you're asking? Wei of Chocolate offers Wei Gratitude (Chai Spice), Wei Love (Rose Chili), Wei Pure (Rich Dark Chocolate, Wei Joyful (Citrus Infused), Wei Inspired (Himalayan Pink Salt), Wei Relaxed (Creamy Dark Chocolate), Wei Beautiful (Peppermint), Wei Radiant (Extra Dark Chocolate), & Wei Peace (Lavender Grey)!

Alright, let's talk chocolate! (As if we already weren't)
  1. Wei Beautiful: The Peppermint-y taste actually surprised me. I thought this was going to be my least favorite, as I was imagining Peppermint patties (YUCK). But the peppermint flavor mixed with delicious 68% dark chocolate is perfection! This is actually my favorite flavor, and I have a whole box of it waiting in the refrigerator. I especially feel light and new when I indulge in the Wei Beautiful chocolate. Ingredients: Organic 68% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), organic essential oil of peppermint, with a proprietary blend of Lotus WeiTM flower remedies including Globe Mallow and Lotus to renew youthful vitality and awaken your inner & outer beauty.
  2. Wei Gratitude: A chai Spice flavored chocolate is welcome on my tongue any day. I am a huge chai lover! (This also happened to be the boyfriend's favorite flavor) The flavors of cardamom, cloves, and  cinnamon make me feel warm and content. This flavor even contains Rhodiola, which is an adaptogenic herb, aiding in fatigue and stress. Extra added benefits of healing herbs is an A+ in chocolate for me. Ingredients: Organic 68% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), organic cinnamon, organic lemon balm, organic rhodiola, organic cardamom, organic clove, organic coriander, organic fennel, organic orange peel and Lotus WeiTM flower remedies including Dyssodia, Red Clover and Pomegranate to relieve stress and enhance peacefulness.
  3. Wei Inspired: Himalayan Salt Infused. This is the first chocolate I had ever tried from WoC at the Indie Beauty Expo in NYC 2015. I was immediately drawn to the table with their set up of cocoa pods! I saw Himalayan salt and I knew it needed to be mine. It's salty and sweet, the perfect combination for a snack if you're craving either or. I am one of those people who needs a salty snack, then needs a sweet snack, so I like that I can enjoy both in this decadent chocolate. This chocolate makes me feel aware and clear. I especially like to meditate with this when the New Moon is upon us. As I am typing this, I realize today is a new moon! Ingredients: Organic 72% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), organic & Kosher Himalayan pink salt with a proprietary blend of Lotus WeiTM flower essences including Pink Primrose, Date and Fire Star Orchid to awaken possibilities and bring forth new projects with clarity & freedom.
  4. Wei Joyful: A lime-orange inspired chocolate. I am very familiar with this flavor, as I used to drink my coffee infused with orange and mocha! I like to kick up my morning in strange, yet delicious ways! This chocolate is absolutely delicious, I love the combination of flavors. This flavor actually helped me immensely one day, as I had a confrontation with someone at work earlier on. Through meditation with this chocolate, I had gained clarity and peace, for which I am not sure would have happened if I had not taken the time to be still. Ingredients: Organic 70% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), lime and orange essential oils, organic ginger, organic cardamom & a blend of Lotus WeiTM flower remedies including Night Blooming Cereus for more insight, joy & laughter. (WAIT, NIGHT BLOOMING CEREUS?! LIKE THE ONE IN DENNIS THE MENANCE!!!!!!!! YES, LOL)
  5. Wei Love: Rose Chili infused. Chris (my boyfriend) was on this one like a lion on a carcass in the wild. He LOVES anything chili infused. This definitely impressed both of us. I at first tasted rose, which is one of my favorite ingredients in baked goods. Half way through I got a kick from the cayenne, and then the center which  produced a milky chocolate flavor. There's also maca inside this one, which is one of my favorite adaptogenic herbs to take! This chocolate made me feel light and airy. This one was a bit more chalky, as all of the others are incredibly smooth. It definitely wasn't a problem for me, and I will miss its flavor. Although, I am psyched to try the new flavor. Ingredients: Organic 74% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), organic maca, organic eleuthero, organic astragalus, organic cinnamon, organic ginger, organic mace, organic cayenne, rose essential oil blend and Lotus WeiTM flower essences including Hong Kong orchid, Fireweed and Magnolia to enhance love and dissolve worry & irritation.
  6. Wei Peace: Lavender Grey Infused. You get the hint of Bergamot and Lavender right when the chocolate makes contact. I am HUGE lover of Earl Grey tea, so I knew this one was going to be delicious! I especially like that I can enjoy this flavor without having to intake the amount of caffeine that black tea has. This flavor in particular was satisfying and relaxing. This flavor inspired me to listen to gongs and stare at the clouds from above. A dreamy vision if you can imagine. Ingredients: Organic 70% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), lavender + bergamot essential oils and a hand-collected blend of Lotus WeiTM flower essences that includes lupine, hibiscus, mountain laurel and lotus.
  7. Wei Pure: 70% Cocoa. This chocolate is deliciously creamy. The dark flavor at 70% really comes through. I am a lover of dark chocolate, a phrase I thought I would never say or actually mean. Growing up in America, I think we are slapped in the face with milk chocolate, it's everywhere. I never actually had dark chocolate until I went vegan. At first, I couldn't understand why anyone would want to eat that dirt flavored chocolate, but the darker it gets now, the more I enjoy it. Dark chocolate is intoxicating! This contains Yarrow essence, which I am actually taking a single blend of right now. I kept being drawn to this particular flavor, and besides the taste, I had wondered why. Ah Yarrow essence, be still my heart, you always heal and protect me. Ingredients: Organic 70% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), with a proprietary blend of Lotus WeiTM flower essences including Jade Succulent, Yarrow and Smoky Quartz for more strength and protection.
  8. Wei Radiant: 80% Cocoa. HOLY dark chocolate. It is so rich in flavor, I almost only want to have half of it at a time. I intuitively ate one of these as I was in the middle of writing this post. This particular flavor is supposed to help you feel balanced & creative, which I can definitely attest to. Ingredients:  Organic 80% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut sugar, organic cocoa butter), and a hand-collected blend of Lotus WeiTM flower essences that includes jasmine, pomegranate flower, navel orange flower, freshwater pearl and lotus.
  9. Wei Relaxed: Creamy Dark Chocolate. For all who are afraid of dark chocolate, I would recommend this one. It tastes more like milk chocolate than any other. This is seriously creamy, and I am HOOKED! I actually like to eat one an hour or two before bed time, and then spray my Lotus Wei Inner Peace; an all in one relaxation ritual. This flavor really puts you at ease when you need it most. Ingredients: Organic 68% dark chocolate (organic cocoa mass, organic coconut blossom sugar, organic cocoa butter), and a hand-collected blend of Lotus WeiTM flower essences that includes passionflower, bird of paradise, dandelion, lotus.
All in all, I am going to be a customer for life. These chocolates are truly out of this world. These also helped me to stop my craving for ice cream. I admit it, I am an ice cream-aholic! These chocolates have changed my nights into a relaxation ritual, instead of mindlessly eating ice cream. Did I mention you can get a monthly subscription too?! So awesome. Be sure to check out Wei of Chocolate: here. They are also on Instagram @weiofchocolate. Lisa just recently traveled to Iceland, and the pictures are magical! Thanks for reading as always!
